Sa1 Mar 08Scout Overland Training Rodmell to Newmarket Hill along the South Downs, via Kingston and Balmer Down, 25km, 10kg pack, meet 8am your Scout HQ
Training will be a linear, rather than circular route, starting from Alfriston and finishing at Ringmer. To reiterate, this means that any adults walking with the teams will need to arrange in advance how they are going to retrieve their vehicles at the end of the hike. One option will be to let the Scouts walk on their own for art least the first part of the hike, which is navigationally very simple, so that the adults can leapfrog along to the various checkpoints and end up with their cars at (or at least much closer to) the finish. Whatever you decide, please could each of you make sure that you have the necessary arrangements in place, so that all parent helpers know exactly what they are doing.

The start point is at GR 5202 0328, and the finish is 447 124.
