Overland Training Essential visits to Overland Start & Finish locations, then Incident Training at Uckfield Scout HQ, Meet 8:00am at your Scout HQ as usual, Collect from Uckfield 4:00pm

Troop leaders should now have the Overland Start and Finish details. As per the programme, this Saturday will be our final training session and needs to involve a brief visit to each of these locations, either by all members of your teams (preferably), or at least by your map readers and by whichever leaders are going to be taking the teams to the start on the morning of the hike (very important!).

Below is the map showing, as precisely as I can without actually going there to identify the specific buildings, where the start and finish are located. In each case there are a number of footpaths and they all need checking out.

Each troop makes its own arrangements for these visits, aiming to be back to the 4th Uckfield HQ by 11:00am at the latest.

We can then begin the second and equally vital part of the training session by taking the Scouts through a number of incidents, seeing if there are any particular skills that they would like to revise and demonstrating to them how not to loose points.

We anticipate that this will go through to about 4pm, so everyone will need packed lunches as usual.
